A tunic of the infante Don García (d. 1145 or 1146 [A.H. 540 or 541]) son of the emperor Alfonso VII, was discovered in 1968 in his tomb in the Panteón Real of the parochial church of Oña (Burgos). This garment, which was worn for riding, fit the body closely down to the hips, where it flared out in four pleats with a split skirt. It has long tight sleeves terminating in a semi-belled opening. | |
